Get That Grant

Excerpt from TarotPower: 22 Keys to Unlocking Magick, Spellcraft, and Meditation by Lexa Roséan

This is a money spell to get financial backing for an artistic project or to help sell any creative work.

Ingredients needed: Catnip, red and yellow rose petals, caraway seeds, and one vanilla bean

In the majority of Tarot decks, the Hierophant is given the astrological assignment of Taurus. Taurus is the earthy aspect of the beauty and art of Venus and the card is often interpreted as denoting a connection between money and art. I always use this interpretation when my artist clients are asking about their work and I have found it to be a correct interpretation.

It was Church money that funded the paintings on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The Hierophant can represent the bond between patron and artist. It is the magic of this card that you will want to use if you are looking for grant money to fuel any kind of artistic project. You can also use it if you want success with selling your art.

Prepare a blend of equal parts of loose catnip, red and yellow rose petals, and caraway seeds. Add a vanilla bean that has been crushed to a fine powder. Sprinkle around all works of art (even manuscripts) you want to draw attention to. Sprinkle over all grant applications before you mail them out.

All these ingredients are magickally associated with Taurus and the Hierophant. Catnip is used to create excitement. Mixed with rose it summons adoration and popularity. It can be used to call attention to you and your work. The caraway seeds and vanilla bean attract large sums of money and also promote luck in the arts.
